La actualidad española vista desde fuera
Como ya hemos dicho en alguna una ocasión, la prensa extranjera nos ayuda a ver la política nacional con mejor y más perspectiva. Por eso recomendamos la lectura del artículo de The Economist titulado Popular peevishness: Spain’s bickering opposition (El malhumor popular: La oposición española pierde el rumbo).
En él se habla de los problemas internos del PP, de su falta de rumbo y su alejamiento del centrismo, el trauma de la pérdida de las elecciones y las teorías conspiratorias:
Yet at the root of the PP’s troubles is its inability to shake off the trauma of its loss of power. This came three days after Muslim terrorists killed 191 people on Madrid trains. The day before the vote, angry protesters came out on the streets demanding to know who was to blame. Was it ETA, as Mr Aznar insisted, or Islamists? As the evidence leant towards the second, voters who had been ready to vote for the PP shifted.
En ese mismo número The Economist, a pesar de ser crítico con la actuación de Estados Unidos en Iraq, pide que las tropas no se marchen todavía.
